‘CSI: Miami’ without Delko

There are hundreds of stories doing rounds about what happens to Delko in ‘CSI: Miami’. From what we see and read, it does come across that Delko will be pretty much leaving the show. Some indicators in the direction might be ones like Adam Rodriguez joining the upcoming series, even as Emily Procter exhibited concern about what will happen to Calleigh-Delko relation.

Delko

Earlier there had been suggestions that Delko will be a recurring character on the show. But now it looks more likely that he will be there only for a limited time and will eventually exit completely. Even though one can’t be sure how the arrangement will work but one possibility is that he will be seen in a multi-episode arc. All these arrangements look still bearable, but having him just appear for the premiere will certainly be a disappointment for fans.

In the last case which is also the worst case scenario, we could end up seeing Delko in a comatose situation capable of only seeing a flashback of how the team met twelve years ago. Obviously it is likely that we will see him dead at the end of the premiere itself. And in case he is appearing in multi-episode arcs, you can still only expect comatose position flash backs at the best from him

Besides Delko, another thing to consider, what happens to the third-in-command tradition of the show? LVPD can rely on Nick and NYPD has Danny but MDPD had Delko. While the first two are firm and unwavering as the characters of their respective shows, Delko’s future makes us wonder as to where the strong man tradition is headed. Delko’s departure certainly casts clouds and makes us think if it is the beginning of the end of the tradition.

Delko

Also premature death of Calleigh-Delko romance leaves a bad taste in the mouth. It would have been interesting to see a dysfunctional love story develop. Also how her character will shape up knowing it was she who was responsible for Delko’s dire straits.

But let’s also talk over all of the ‘CSI’ series. It is ‘Miami’ that needs a fair amount of rework. Lately it has been dragging with no real changes and challenges. Yes Speedle has died and Alexx has left too early, but that is it. Nothing more. At least New York has some one in a wheel chair while Las Vegas has seen a fair amount of disturbance, but Miami feels comatose.

May be it is time that someone put a wakeup call for the show.
